Andalusia Health Shares its 2025 Community Benefit Report
The report outlines the hospital’s positive impact on the health and well-being of the Andalusia area.
ANDALUSIA, Alabama (May 5, 2026) – Andalusia Health today released its 2025 Community Benefit Report that highlights the hospital’s ongoing contributions to the health and well-being of the Andalusia area.
The report outlines key initiatives and investments made throughout the year to strengthen local healthcare access, support economic growth, and improve the quality of life for residents across the region.
“Every day, the best measure of our impact is the patients who walk out of our doors healthier than when they came in," said Vickie Demers, CEO of Andalusia Health. "But over the course of the year, as this report details, Andalusia Health also strengthens the health and well-being of our community as a large employer and taxpayer, essential provider of charitable care, and avid supporter of local organizations. We are proud to be a partner in a healthier community and grateful for the trust placed in us as the area’s preferred healthcare provider.”
Expanding Services, Investing in Care
The report highlights Andalusia Health’s continued efforts to meet the region’s evolving healthcare needs by recruiting new providers, expanding clinical services, and investing in medical technology and infrastructure.
In 2025, for instance, Andalusia Health welcomed 75 affiliated providers across specialties that included Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Orthopedic Surgery, Psychiatry, Pulmonary Medicine, and Radiology. The hospital also invested in several capital improvements, including a portable EEG system, new EKG machines, an infant ventilator, new patient monitors, and upgrades to two laparoscopic towers in our operating room.
Supporting Patients and Strengthening the Local Economy
Andalusia Health also provided nearly $8 million in charitable and uncompensated care, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring patients have access to care regardless of their ability to pay.
Supporting the local workforce remained another key priority. In 2025, the hospital distributed more than $22 million in salaries, wages, and benefits to approximately 450 full-time employees. Andalusia Health also invested more than $55,000 in professional development, helping employees advance their skills and continue improving patient care.
Partnering with the Community
The report also highlights the hospital’s broader economic impact as a taxpaying operation. In 2025, Andalusia Health paid more than $4.4 million in provider, payroll, property, and sales taxes, contributing to the region’s economic stability and growth.
Andalusia Health also continued supporting numerous local organizations and community initiatives, including the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce, Andalusia Ballet, Andalusia Bulldog Booster Club, Andalusia High School Football Touchdown Sponsor, Andalusia Public Library Fundraiser, Charitable City of Andalusia Refund, Christmas in Candyland, City of Andalusia, Coterie Club of Andalusia Run for Kids, Covington County Sports Banquet, Full Tummy Project of Covington County, July Jamz, LBW Video Board Pledge, Meredith’s Miracles Cookies with Characters, Miracle League, and Skip Enzor-Covington County Sports, among others.
“Our team lives and works in the area, so it’s only natural for us to support like-minded organizations that do great things for our community,” Demers added.
